Mr.Smedley, As a community member and paying customer, I appreciate your recent statement regarding the Combat Upgrade and the future of Star Wars Galaxies. You show merit in displaying an interest in feedback from your customers. With the recent exodus of paying customers from the game, many suggestions, opinions and specualtions have been offered as to the why people are dissatisfied. It is my hope that this letter will help clarify some of the basic issues people are having with Star Wars Gal...

I almost didn't write this article. The target of my attention probably doesn't deserve to have several paragraphs commited to him, much less a two word profanity which comes to mind whenever I read his writings. Still, there is a trend among certain left leaning bloggers to attack and run, and I have something I'd like to say to all of them. Get a spine. A spine, the column of hollow bone ringlets running from the base of the brain to the pelvis. That wondrous organic device that acts as ...

You know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about you. Sitting over there, in a hooded sweatshirt looking all cool, like a gangsta. Is that it? You a gangsta now? RAGE! RAGE ON! My little red headed gangsta. You know I love you.

My wife has an aunt that is similar in age. The two grew up together and had some good times, and even to this day my wifes aunt is very close. And every Christmas, she's gotten us a unique blend of coffee. We love coffee, so this is ok. Heck, it's more than ok, it's become a singular point in the Christmas madness my wife and I look forward to. We love coffee so much we keep a backup coffee maker in case the main one breaks. We have grinders and precisely measured scoops, we keep our coffee ref...

I awoke this afternoon (I keep strange hours) to my wife frantically trying to explain to me that something was 'living' in our car. She thought we had a small rodent or even the dreaded evil Drusilla (a bird we recently set free, more on that in another blog). I could tell immediatly that the problem was mechanical - the car was clicking, from somewhere deep in its depths. The kind of diabolical, monotonous clicking that lets you know something just isnt right. I fear our car. I refuse to dr...

Well, I just received THE phone call I've been waiting for for 4 years. Honestly, the one I've been waiting for since I married my wife almost 8 years ago. I got THE job. It's exactly what I've been doing for the past 5 years, designing cell phone sites (those big antenna towers you see everywhere). I work from my cozy home here in Houston for companies all over the USA. The problem with that is that during the "down time", when work is slow coming in at the change of each quarter, my wife a...

A few days ago I received an email from a representative for a company that is taking DesktopX to the Japanese market. To sum it up: "We are writing to ask you the permission of the use of your DesktopX artwork(s) at our web site. Our company connected Stardock Corporation, Inc, with the licensing agreement of DesktopX. We are going to sell it in Japan and set up the site in which DesktopX artwork(s) are introduced. We want to introduce your cool artwork(s) to Japanese users in it." I s...

A few people have wondered whats happened to me here at Joe User. I've been working alot lately, and holidays make me crazy. But the truth is I've been sucked back in to one of the most addictive games I've ever played, Star Wars Galaxies. I started playing it about 16 months ago. MMPORGS were new to me at the time, I'd never played EverCrack, and I was hesitant to get involved in a game requiring so much commitment. But the Star Wars branding pulled me in anyway... Star Wars games are either...

I know that I am opinionated, and sometimes harsh. I have little tolerance for dissenting points of view at times, and that is a character trait of mine that often offends, resulting in many of you blacklisting me. So be it. But if you have blacklisted me, you have also blacklisted iamheather, my wife, and I would ask you to take me off your list for her sake. My time at JU has been somewhat reduced lately. You'll notice that my daily blogs are fewer and farther between, and its almost ...

I'm a forum junkie. I love the arguements about politics, religion and sex (all the things you don't bring up in polite company). Every forum has a place for a signature at the bottom of your post, and these are a few of my favorites I picked up some years back. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Looks like I'm getting a job. After two years of a "job interview". Technically, I already have a job - I'm self employed, working from home doing CAD design work for instruction books and telecomm companies. I've done ok over the past few years. I mean, we all have clothes and we haven't starved to death yet. My biggest client, a company out of the Northwest, is offerring me a job. I've done work for them for two years now, and it's been a great relationship. By comparison, this compan...

If you're reading this article, you've probably fallen into the upgrade trap at some point in your life. Speedy new computer parts, bigger, faster, sleeker than the ones you own. And you want them. It could be a new laser mouse, with all the bells and whistles, or the latest processor or even a smaller, better digital camera. You see the Intel commercial for their latest, fastest processor, with a happy family having a good time around the computer. Your computer isn't that fast, and your family...
