The jury has just read the verdict on Scott Peterson.
Guilty of 1st degree murder of his wife Laci.
Guilty of 2nd degree murder of his unborn child.

There is indeed justice in this world.

YAAAAAY!...I hate to say that...but...YAAAAY!! Now if they could just get Mark Hacking!!!

The Judicial System still works and a jury of his peers found him guilty.

I think he did it, but i have to question the verdict. Not to mention the fact the judge kicked the foreman and one other juror off the jury. My guess is they had cast not guilty votes based on the evidence which was circumstantial at best.

I smell an interesting appeal and possibly the firing of the judge.

I'm glad they found him guilty.

And Jade? I think Hacking will be convicted no problemo. But i doubt they'll give him the needle. That SOB Bought the trash bags at the Maverick convenience store a block from my house.

I don't think he'll be convicted...at least nothing major. He'll get off on insanity. A block from your house...that's sick!

I'm surprised. From what I've been hearing in the news, I didn't think he'd be convicted. Then again, I didn't really pay attention to it. It depresses me that my city's recent two times in the national spotlight involved murdered women (i.e. Chandra Levi and Laci Peterson).

Messy, I am with you.  But then I was not in the courtroom, and did let the old media tell me what was going on.  I dont think this is over, as Geragos is not a putz of a lawyer.

But I do trust the jury system.  yea it lets some go free.  But it also nabs some bad ones.

Zombie, you need to save this one and do a sequel after the appeal.

Oh make no mistake, this thing is far from over. I wish it was because justice was done in my opinion, but automatic appeal when the jurors get to act like jumping beans in the boat! The jury system works; the judges' brains don't always.

There will be plenty of appeals going on - Ineffetive council (a catch-all), the removed jurors and evidentiary issues. Geragos hurt his own defense when he made promises of proving things in his openeing statement (the baby was born alive and such) that he didn't come close to proving.
But the one thing I don't understand (and I am not a pro-life person) is that if he knew his wife was pregnant and he premeditaed her killing, how could he have not premeditated the killing of the unborn child? That simply makes no sense.
