Democrats vote for the draft.

A vote for Kerry is a vote for change... indicators point to that Kerry will instate a draft. You figure it out:

John Kerry has claimed he will add to troop strength by 40,000 troops. Where will he get these troops?
John Kerry has stated this week that he will appoint Joe Biden as Secretary of State.
Joe Biden is co-author of the recent draft legislation, trying to re-instate the draft.

This one is so obvious it's not even funny.

Great Theodore Roosvelt's Ghost!! Here I go again, they will end up drafting my broken down ass, though I will end up in the office, oh well, as long as they reinstate me as E-4 with the pay range I was at...no FLU shots though, I will refuse flu shots from the Army!!

Were there to be a draft, I don't think the Army would take people that have been medically discharged.

Oh, and I think you might be a wee bit over the age limit, drmiler.

That just leaves deadzombie . . .

You guys need to keep working on this draft thing . . . deadzombie can't do it all alone . . .

Hey, I am 23 been out of the Army less than year and even though I have been medically discharged does not mean they will not draft me, Lee even supports this conjecture.
I thought I was safe, but a warm broken body is better than no body.

So, you think they'll skip over all the healthy young 18 year olds and draft people that got out due to injury or health problems instead? That makes a lot of sense. My grandfather was in the Army and fought in the Korean war . . . maybe they'll draft him, too since he's got combat experience.

*shakes head* Silly Grim . . . drafts are for healthy dudes.

Haha, but you miss the point, I have been out less than 12 months which means all they have to do issue a set of orders and BOOM I am back in, healthy 18 year old is not more valuable than a broken 23 year old specialist with experience and training plus proven to be a Army soldier who would uphold the Army values, and that is the bottom line because Stone Grim said so!!

Even my Dad agrees with me on this one because he said they could issue some orders and pull some stuff, blam I am back in quicker than I got out.

Wow . . . while the experience and training thing is a plus in many, many ways, it is bizarre that they would call someone up that they got rid of because he or she was too sick or injured to do his or her duty in the first place. That's interesting. I trust you when you say they would, Grim, it just seems odd to me.

Not odd, just less expensive and easier. Plus for every ten you draft half are sent back, so why chance it when you could pull somebody who is a sure thing even though he would be regulated to an office job, but an office job that frees up one more able than him to go elsewhere.

I hope the Navy isn't short on Cryo Techs, But I've been out for 7 year so if I remember right they have to get the youngin's first!

Maybe not the Navy, but the Army may. Ever since the Navy started their draw down, we have been training Airmen and Navy guys how to shoot.

I'll see all ya guys next year if Kerry wins. Go ahead and send me your sizes please.
