Why haven't you guys figured this out yet?

I'm amazed that ANYONE in this country is voting for Kerry. I can understand no agreeing with President Bush, heck I can even understand wanting him out of office...
BUT HAVEN'T YOU FIGURED OUT THAT JOHN KERRY IS A RICH WHITE UPPER CLASS ARISTOCRATIC SNOB? HE'S NOT THE ANSWER PEOPLE!

I just had to get that out of my system. The last thing on Earth I would expect from the Democratic party is to get behind a snobby white guy billionaire with 20 years in Washington as "the man". You know, a guy that represents everything the Democratic party has fought against for 50 years now...

Yes, let us defend Kerry being a snob by pointing out Bush. What can no one defend their candidate on their candidate's own merits without resorting to the "well my guy is better than your guy" argument?

I didn't say Kerry was better than Bush... I said they had virtually the same kind of familial background after DZ brought up Bush's "humble" origins. Reagan was the last president with humble origins in terms of schooling.

The Democratic party has been purchased. I will enjoy watching it's demise over the next four years. Enjoy your moment of glory on Jan.21, 2005: Kerry is the antithesis of every noble ideal the Democrats have stood for.

Name me a candidate that isn't beholden to some special interest or another, and I will show you a candidate who couldn't win higher office.

True, which is why I call them cousins and "Skulls" members, but one was raised in Texas in small town the other in Massachusetts in a large city (?), so because their backgrounds and relationships are the same does not mean their personal interactions with individuals are the same. Though Badnarik is a nicer fellow though and one I could actually connect with because he comes from a middle class background.

I think the reality we're up against is that a Kerry victory isn't really an endorsement of Kerry, but more of a confirmation of dissatisfaction for Bush.

To say that I'm dissatisfied with Bush would be a HUGE understatement. But, the fact of the matter is, I support and endorse Kerry wholeheartedly. There are huge numbers of people who do support and endorse him, though I'm sure there are just as many who are going by the "Anyone but Bush" scenario.

im sure we all went to public school or played stickball with guys named prescott sheldon bush.

I was going to say I went to school with people with names like that... but I never attended public schools. Whoops. Guess I'd better stay out of this conversation....

haha i SO agree. I'm from australia and all u hear about lately is the negative commentary on Bush but has anyone actually bothered asking 'why is it that he still has support?'. I'm not a big Bush fan but in this election i see him as the less of two evils. Kerry is more remote from the people and like all democrats - a political monger. Supporting expedient policies to further his own political career. So Bush victory tonight signals that the ppl of US, rightly, hate Kerry more than Bush! Three cheers to democracy!
